Is ARC secure?

ARC is 100% safe and secure. We take your privacy and security very seriously and make use of all the necessary physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards to ensure unauthorised access is prevented, data accuracy is maintained and that your personal information is used correctly and legally.

What payment methods are available?

Payment can be made by:

Credit card: VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club
Debit card: VISA & Mastercard (must be 3D Secure enabled)
Instant EFT
Zapper
 
For more information on what is required to process a payment, proceed to checkout, select your desired option and follow the instructions. Payment methods shown in checkout are subject to availability and limitations depending on your cart value.
 

Why can I not see a payment method?

The payment methods shown at checkout can vary depending on:

  • Your order value: Snapscan (for example) have a maximum order value and will not be offered on orders over this value. 
  • Items in your cart: Gift vouchers cannot be purchased with delayed-payment methods like Mobicred

Payment provider outages: If a payment provider is having technical difficulties, we might disable the payment method temporarily until the issue is resolved.

Why is my credit card payment not going through?

If your card transaction has failed the most probable cause is a bank decline. Our credit card provider acts as a middleman between Arc and your bank to process online transactions. The ultimate authorisation for a transaction comes from your bank.

Some common reasons include, insufficient funds, incorrect card details, exceeding daily limits, etc. Some banks automatically disable debit cards for online payments, so you may need to contact your bank to enquire further.

When does ARC charge my credit card?

We charge your card as soon as the order is processed (which is shortly after you checkout). You will receive an order confirmation via email.

How do I change my credit card details?

At checkout you will be prompted to enter your credit card details. If your credit card details have changed you can simply add the new credit card details at that point.

How do I pay with a Credit or Cheque card?

Pay for your order using an American Express, Diners Club, Visa or Mastercard credit, cheque or debit card.

  • Click on Credit Card
  • You will be directed to a screen where you are required to enter your name and card details
  • To finalise your order, you may be guided to your bank's 3D secure process to authenticate your details.

I’m having trouble with my payment; my card transaction is not going through?

There are a few common reasons why this might be happening: incorrect card details, insufficient funds or there is an automatic block on your card for online transactions. The final authorisation for a transaction comes from your bank, so you may want to contact them for further assistance here. 

When does ARC charge my credit card?

Your card is charged as soon as your order is processed. We will send an order confirmation email shortly after. 

How do I change my credit card details?

Simply add your new card details when prompted to at checkout. 

Why should I use Instant EFT instead of a Manual EFT?
 
It’s quick

With Instant EFT, the long waiting time for the funds to reflect, is eliminated. The moment we receive confirmation of your successful Instant EFT transaction, we will immediately begin processing your order.

It’s secure

Making a payment using Instant EFT is just as secure as making a direct EFT deposit because Instant EFT uses the existing relationship you have with your bank.

The only information needed is your login information and the OTP numbers that are triggered to your mobile number - it’s that easy.

Rest assured that neither ARC nor our Instant EFT providers store your banking details.

It’s accurate

No more incorrect references or hassles with cancelled orders, paying with Instant EFT means automatic use of the correct payment reference, amount, and destination bank account. This ensures your order gets processed immediately by ARC.

Can I pay with Snapscan?

You can pay using SnapScan to make your payment with ARC. Check that your card
is a MasterCard or Visa card, has a CVV number on the back and is enabled for online payments. 

Some banks automatically disable debit cards for online payments, so you may need to contact your bank to enquire further. 

Is Snapscan secure?

Yes. When you sign up with Snapscan, your card details are stored in an encrypted vault. The encrypted card is linked to your Snapscan PIN. This means that at the time of purchasing from ARC, only you can authenticate the transaction using your PIN known only to you and Snapscan.

Can I pay with Mobicred?

Yes, Mobicred is an easy-to-use and convenient credit facility that allows you to shop on Arcstore.co.za and repay the amount over 12 months.  Interest is charged at 20.5% per year. Note that the interest rate is subject to change.

How do I sign up for Mobicred?

Step 1: Register on Mobicred’s website and follow their prompts to complete your application.
Step 2: Your application may take two business days to process.
Step 3: Once approved, you can come back and pay for your items using Mobicred.
Step 4: Note that this may take some time, we unfortunately can’t guarantee your items will still be available upon your return. So, if you need your items urgently, we recommend looking to an alternative supported payment method.

What if I am already registered with Mobicred?

Step 1: Select Mobicred as your payment choice at checkout
Step 2: Log in using your Mobicred username and password
Step 3: Enter the one-time pin (OTP) that will be sent to your mobile phone
Step 4: Confirm and pay
Step 5: Your Mobicred account will be debited and we will send you a confirmation email, shortly after your order has been processed.
 

How do Mobicred Fees work?

As a revolving credit facility, Mobicred repayments are calculated as 10% of the account balance plus fees. These fees will be confirmed with you by Mobicred on opening your Mobicred account and could entail the following:

Monthly service fee of R42.00 (incl. VAT)
Once off account initiation fee ranging from R119-R610 (incl. VAT), depending on the facility granted.

Please note: The monthly payment amount displayed is indicative only and based on 12 monthly instalments  excluding any Mobicred fees. 

Can I pay with Zapper?

Yes, Zapper is a mobile app that makes payments and e-commerce quick, simple and secure by allowing you load your card information onto the app once, and then scan a QR code at checkout to pay using your card. This keeps your card details in just one place - the Zapper app.
